In a time when we are rethinking what we bring into our homes and put next to our skin, natural fibres are finding their way into our daily lives. We’re choosing clothing that wraps our families in warmth and comfort — and also reflects care for the earth and our bodies.
Organic Merino wool is simple and true. It is soft against the skin, deeply functional, and rooted in a chain of care that stretches from pasture to finished garment. At Warmth and Weather, we are grateful to work with partners who honour that chain: Disana, Engel, Hocosa, Hirsch Natur, Pickapooh, BMS, and Reiff.

Sourcing Carefully
The wool begins on certified organic farms in South America, where sheep graze on open, pesticide-free pastures. These animals live outdoors, tended with respect and without synthetic fertilizers or harmful chemicals.
Organic certification means the land is cared for responsibly, the animals are treated ethically, and the fibre is traceable. It is a slower, more attentive way of working — and you can feel that difference in the wool itself.

Thoughtful Production
From there, the wool travels to Germany and Switzerland, where our partners oversee production with remarkable care. Spinning, knitting, dyeing, and finishing are done under strict environmental standards. Water use is monitored, harsh chemicals are not used, and quality is checked at every step.
Keeping production nearby allows transparency and accountability. It also preserves generations of textile knowledge — something increasingly rare and deeply valuable.

Why Wool Matters
Wool remains one of nature’s most remarkable fibres.
It breathes.
It regulates temperature.
It draws moisture away from the skin.
It keeps children warm without overheating and comfortable through shifting seasons. For sensitive skin, it can be incredibly gentle. And when its life is complete, it returns to the earth naturally.

Wearing Organic Wool
When you choose organic Merino wool, you’re choosing more than softness. You’re supporting farms that respect the land, companies that value ethical production, and clothing designed to last through real family life.
These garments carry integrity. They are made to be worn, mended, handed down, and lived in.
And in a world moving quickly, there is something grounding about clothing that begins in a field and ends in warmth that surrounds you or your child.
