We trialed this jacket on our eldest child, and were so impressed with its durability, visibility, warmth, and waterproof-ness, that we purchased head-to-toe Warmth and Weather gear (rain jackets, rain pants, and fleece-lined mitts) for our 2 younger children as well. Friends regularly ask us what the brand name of our children’s gear is, as they also have noticed that our children always end up the driest at the end of their forest school days! We highly recommend this gear, and wish adult sizes were offered!
The quality, construction and style of this jacket is second to none. This material is impermeable yet very breathable. The size runs on the larger size but we benefited by this by having this coat for a long time.
Thank you Leah for sharing your experience. :)
These coats are well made and great for spending many hours outside in all kinds of weather. They run rather large. I say don’t size up- go with their regular size (maybe even down a size) and there will still be lots of room for sweaters and growing. I ordered up a size for each of my kids and am exchanging the coats for ones. few sizes smaller. Bonus: The coat I ordered for my oldest (size 152) fits me with lots of space for a wool sweater (I’m 5’3” and somewhere between a size 3 and 6).
We have 3 of these yellow jackets. I wish you had them for adults, they are so well made and 100% waterproof. In the fall we celebrated my older son's birthday with a hike in the woods, and it was pouring rain but we managed to keep them dry with these jackets, and I love that they are OEKO-TEX® Certified.
